Hypnosis
Hypnosis is a state of focused attention and increased responsiveness to suggestion. During hypnosis, a person is typically deeply relaxed and concentrated, which may make them more receptive to guided imagery, therapeutic suggestions, and other supportive techniques.
Contrary to common myths, people under hypnosis are generally aware of what is happening and cannot be forced to act against their core values or wishes. When hypnosis is used for therapeutic purposes by a trained professional, it is often referred to as clinical hypnosis or hypnotherapy.
